On 2nd May 1998, 45132 suffered a rare failure at Medstead & Four Marks, while working the 13:52 Alton - Alresford. 27007 was dispatched from Ropley to provide assistance.
The "Peak" was back in traffic the next day, so the problem must have been fairly minor.
